Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
Brother leaving us in dark
My brother posted a password so I could not call the hospital to check on my dad before he died and now that we have all given him our share of the cost to probate the will he tells us we do not get a copy and we will not get to ask the attorney any questions or see her. He said he will read the will to us and we must pay him $5k off the top of the sale of the house for repairs he paid for and he keeps the bank account. Do my sister and I have any rights to know about the process of probating the will and what is going on. We have been left in the dark and all we get is attitude. It feels like something is wrong here.

Once the will is entered into probate it becomes public information. You can get a copy from the court clerk, usually paying $1.00 per page.
There may be good reason for your brother to act the way he does, although he can't forbid you to call the attorney that's handling the probate.
