Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
changing executor of will
Do we need a lawyer to change the executor of our wills which were drawn up in Texas by a lawyer now deceased? Can we just add a codicil changing the name of the executor and have our signatures witnessed by two outside individuals not named in the will. Can this be attached to our current wills and still be legal?

Re: changing executor of will
You really ought to work with a lawyer in either drawing up the codicil, or redrafting your wills; whichever is the easier (see "less expensive"). If you do it yourself, you are running the risk of invalidating your will. Then you would be intestate and not know it!
