Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

When a child is disinherited, shouldn't the parent expressly state in the will his or her intention to omit the child. to just state in a will that i disinherit my dauter jane doe and my son john doe is that enough. the parent should also state the reason for the disinheritance. true or false.
