Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Are children responsible for their parents credit card debt after their death ?

Are adult children responsible for the credit card debt of their parents after the death of those parents if there is no estate? My Mother is using a credit card to pay for her expensive drugs, and when she is gone I want to make sure there is no way I might be responsible to pay this, as I am not on that credit card in anyway.

Unless a child has volunteered their credit to back up a parent's debts, a child is not liable for a parent's debts after death; only the parent's estate may be looked to for payment.
