Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

A client initiated a Statutory Durable Power of Attorney in Rockwall County, Texas in 1996 before his recent diagnosis of Alzheimer�s. He never filed the original with the county clerk's office and his daughter's cannot find the original which he had in his possession. Both daughters have a copy of the original. Can a copy be certified to be an original document when original is lost, and how would you go about it?

If Alzheimer's has progressed to incapacity, she will probably need to obtain guardianship. If Alzheimer's is hasn't progressed, he might be lucid enough to grant the powers again.
