Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Contesting a Will

Can other siblings contest a will if they were intentionally left out by my parents? Are those siblings entitled to a copy of the will or entitled to know what the will contains before my parents pass away? What process takes place after a will is done?

Re: Contesting a Will

I'm not sure I'm understanding your question correctly, but I'll take a chance on answering it. No one can contest a will until the person who made the will dies. No one is entitled to a copy of the will until the person who made the will dies. After a will is executed, it is either kept at a lawyer's office, the county clerk, or the person who made the will keeps it in a safe place. Upon the death of the person who made the will, the person who has custody of the will has to give the will to the county clerk's office. After that, the executor should apply to probate the will. Then people seeking to contest the will can begin their process.
