Re: Contesting wills

In order to contest a will, there are several things to consider. 1. Has the will already been admitted into probate? 2. Does the party have legal "standing," or a relationship that gives him an interest in the estate? and 3. Is there a legal reason to contest it? The nephew must be a blood relative and be in line to inherit or be a creditor in order to have standing. I can't tell you whether he is in line to inherit without more details on the family tree. The legal reasons to contest include that the will does not comply with current law or that the person who signed it was not competent to sign. I would need an office appointment and a copy of the will to give you a more accurate answer.
