Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
My dad married a lady who owns the house they live in. Her children stand to inherit the house upon her death. I have been told there is a "life estate" law that will protect my dad and he can stay in the house until his death or choice to move, then the property goes to the children.

Yes. It's called the Widower's Life Estate. He has the right to occupy the house as long as he wants to (until he dies).
He has a duty to preserve the property and not "commit waste."
