Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

my dad passed away recently and supposedly everything was left to my step-mother how can i find out if this is true or not?

If the will was probated, then you can review it at the office of the probate clerk in the county of your Dad's residence.

If there was no will, then one-half of the community property and almost all of his separate property would be inherited by his children. There are exceptions and allowances so consult an attorney who practices probate law.

Also, if there was a will that was not probated, then you need an attorney to begin that process (assuming that you like the will, of course). The court can make the surviving spouse turn over the will if she refuses.
