Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
distribution of step-mother's will
I am an heir to my step-mother's will. There are 3 step-sisters and myself named in the will. The will states that everything will be divided by 4 and share/share alike. My step sisters are saying that the home my father and step-mother owned is being left to one of the daughters and not divided between us. I think the house has to be divided and if she wants it she should buy my part of the estate. Is this something I should get a lawyer to resolve or look into it for me?

Re: distribution of step-mother's will
The will is controlling unless it has been modified in some way. You could file the will for probate as an interested party, maybe seek to remove the named executor and get the distribution from the estate in that manner. If what you are saying is true - good title can never transfer on the property until you sign a deed or a waiver.
