My mother recently died and I have durable power of attorney. Will the will still need to be probated or will I make certain all debts are [aid before executing any distributions indicated in the will

Your powers under the power of attorney expired upon your mother's death. The will should now be probated. Any creditors should understand that there will be a delay before the will can be probated and the executor appointed, and their bills paid.
