Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Estate and asset protection...

Hello,

My German mother-in-law (who lives in Germany) bought a home in Granbury, Texas in April 2008. She was planning on putting the home into a Land Trust with me as the beneficiary, but her health started going down. She is now in a coma. She has a hand-written will (in English), non witnessed and non notarized, stating that she wishes the home to pass to me upon her demise. Unfortunately, my husband has a large civil judgment against him and we do not want the home in his name. My husband is the only heir, and this is her only property. Will this Will be honored in Texas? Can someone please explain what our options are? I have spend over $500 for advise from a Houston Real Estate attorney and getting more than a two sentence answer is like pulling teeth. I am also more confused than ever.

Re: Estate and asset protection...

You need to talk to a good probate attorney, this isn't really something a real estate attorney would handle.
