Mother died, had will,but has been in probate since 7/04/07, brother sold her house about two weeks ago. my question is how long does it generally take to get checks?

There is no way anyone not involved with the probate can answer that question. There may be debts to settle, other property to dispose of, .... I assume your brother is the executor, ask him when you can expect your money.
