Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

estate law

My parents divorced more than 30yrs ago. He remarried two more times and now has a considerable amount of money. We have a good relationship but still I am curious about my rights if any. Dad has two more children, one from the second marriage, one with his wife now he is grown and one stepchild.

Re: estate law

If your father has a will, then the will controls how his estate is handled. He doesn't have complete free reign, though, because he can't give the 1/2 of community property that his present spouse owns. If he dies without a will, then you would be entitled to a share of the estate.
