Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Executor will not give me my distribution

My mother's estate was set up to have the inheritance distributed to the children half upon reaching 25 and the rest upon reaching 35. I reached 35 back in the first part of August 2006. The executor of the estate will not provide me with an accounting of the estate or my final distribution. He has just recently started to return my calls but says he needs more time to get ''things'' together. What is the easiest way to get my inheritance and a full accounting of the estate?

Re: Executor will not give me my distribution

You could request an accounting in writing by Certified mail from the executor. You could also check the file at the courthouse to see if any accountings have been filed with the court. You could file a motion for accounting with the court. You might need a lawyer for this part.

Mr. Grissom hit the nail on the head. I expect that results may be faster if you engage the services of an attorney rather than doing it yourself.
