Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
my father died in October 2008 and left no will. He had a live in girlfriend who has given us nothing but problems about getting his things. There's also the matter of "Charles" the guy my dad worked for and financed his house and land thru. we found out today that Charles has sold my dad's house and land without first consulting with me and my brother. We have not signed anything saying that we relinquished the land or house or anything. We have tried on numerous occasions to speak with Charles and he has kept us waiting in his lobby area for more than 2 and half hours without a word or even showing his face or returning any of our phone calls. Our dad's stuff is still at my dad's house and he sold the place! What rights do we have?

Contact an attorney asap. The only way Charles might have had authority to sell the property was to foreclose the loan and take the property back. It may be too late if he did it right, but I doubt it. Time is not on your side.
