Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My father died last year and left everything to my mother, who has probated his will and has letters of testamentary that she is executor. How does she get his name removed from the deed to their home? The county office tells her she still needs a lawyer to file a form.

She can do an executor's deed. A lawyer could do that for a few hundred dollars. Do NOT DIY this.

Another option would be for her to get a certified copy of the will and the court order admitting it to probate, and then file it in the real property records of the county.

Check with the county office to see if this will make them happy.
