Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My father passed away, the will went to probate court and I'm an heir but no one has sent me a copy of the will. If they refuse to send me one, if I get a lawyer will the assets of the will become frozen? I can't go get a copy from the courthouse since I live in Kansas and the courthouse is in Houston. What should I do?

It should be available on line. If you are a primary heir named in the will, someone has to send you notice, but to be safe, I would hire a service to go get you a certified copy of the application to probate and the will.
