Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Where does my fathers property go.

If a father dies, but the wife still lives what happens to his property? Does it all go to the wife or does the State get it. Someone said the will wasn't Notarized right so it was said to be no good.

Re: Where does my fathers property go.

The will may or may not be valid. I'd have to see it to be sure. A will doesn't necessarily have to be notarized to be valid, it just becomes a big pain to get probated if it isn't done properly. Anyway, there are intestacy laws that govern where the property goes in the absence of a will. Where the property goes is fact specific, and depends on what kind of property (real or personal) and how the property is titled (community or separate) and the family composition (children, parents, etc.) You should have a local lawyer review the will and the property and come up with a plan.
