Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Fight Over RV Title

Before my aunt passed away she gave me and my brother a travel

trailer, if we did our own repairs, now she has passed away her

granddaughter wants 3000 for it, my aunt gave us the deed, bu

didn't have it transferred over, I'm not going to pay her, because

we have already put about $2000 worth of repairs in it, what do i

do with the title and if she comes and gets it can i get reimbursed

for the money and can i charge her storage rent, or can i get the

title changed over to my name?

Re: Fight Over RV Title

You can tell the granddaughter that you have a claim against the trailer for over $2,000 for repairs, plus storage on top of that, and that you are prepared to exercise a garageman's lien on it. She can have the trailer back if she pays what your aunt was obligated for. Follow up with a letter to her, setting forth what was done, the costs, and storage fees at $15.00 per day, with a demand for payment.

Then touch bases with a friendly auto repair shop and ask them how they get title to a vehicle they've worked on when the owner walks away from it and refuses to pay.
