Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

How to find out about a will

My nephews were minors when their mother died. She left them a portion of her IRA. Their stepfather is executor. Nephews are now 25-30 and want to get their money. Stepfather will not give it to them. How do the get a copy of the will and get their money?

The will is public data after it's entered into probate. Go to the probate court in the county where she lived, and ask to see the file. Copying the will should cost you $1.00 per page.

You'll need a lawyer to go after the stepfather if he's played fast and loose with their trust funds.
