Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Fraud trying to get my Grandfathers will

My grandfather and I didn't talk much after my mother died. He became sick and I was too young and didn't have the money to take care of him. A friend of his took care of him and became his power of attorney. I just found out 3 days ago that he died back in October and now this friend is saying he is my grandfathers son and trying to get to his money. I need to know what information I need, and what I need to do. I don't think he ever changed his will from giving me and my brother everything, but i am not for sure. What do I do? All of his bank accounts are in Houston, but he died in Eastland county which is 6 hours away. Should I get a lawyer in Houston, or the county he died in?

Call an attorney ASAP to protect your interests. Find one in the county of your grandfather's residence at the time of death. I assume Eastland. If you have rights to the estate, act quickly before the person has time to reach the assets. You may be able to be reimbursed for the legal fees from the estate assets.

Eastland Co. (or some adjacent county) would probably be better.
