Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Want my Grandsons to Benefit/Not Stepmother

I have a son and 2 minor grandsons. My son divorced the children's Mother and the boys live with her. My son is remarried to a woman that I do not want to have any of my estate. I want most of my estate used for (while they are minors)/saved for the benefit of the 2 grandsons when they come of age and my jewelry to be saved for them. A small part of the estate can be given to my son at the time of my death. How can I set up a will to make sure my wishes are honored and his wife not benefit in any fashion (community property). I am not sure if my son would follow my wishes and not use part of the money or co-mingle the money or give my jewelry to his current wife or at least let her wear it. The grandsons Mother would not use the money like I would want it spent. I do have a Brother and Sister that I could involve if necessary. How would you suggest that I set up a will that would not involve any ongoing costs after my death.

Speak with a lawyer in your area that handles probate and estate matters. They can prepare a will, or possibly a trust, that will do exactly what you want it to do. That is not something you can do on your own!
