Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
Would handwritten notes qualify as a will?
My mother passed away last month and she did not sign a formal will however she said many times of her intentions for her property and she also wrote notes about it. However, the notes are included in her to-do lists and are only a few words but at least one is directly to the point, and the other is right to the point but in a her own way that only we(her children and those who knew her) could understand. Can I use these notes to probate her ''will'' and what if I video interview those who ''know'' her wishes?

Re: Would handwritten notes qualify as a will?
A handwritten document can be a will if it meets certain tests. If what you are describing is just notes, it might not be considered a will. If it has the right language, it could be a will sufficient to probate. If you want me to look at it, contact me on the internet. Good Luck.
