Home Deed

My mother past away several years ago, without leaving a will. The remaining adult children, Two sisters and two brothers want to change the name on the home deed from that of my mother to one of my sisters. All of us the are in agreement with this decision what do you suggest we do or what forms do we need to fill in order to register her as the owner of my deceased moms home.

When did the mother die? Was she married? How many children did the mother have? Is the house financed? Did the mother own it with anyone else at any time? Did the mother have debts when she died?

In many cases, you can do a family settlement agreement, affidavit and a series of deeds to clear the title to the property and transfer ownership.
