Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
If you inherit property that is kept in a trust, do you still get to keep the homestead exemption and frozen tax rates after a person 75 years old leaves the property in the trust to you? If so, how long do you get to keep the homestead exemption and frozen tax rates?

So it depends. If the 75 year old still lives in the house and the trust has the appropriate language the homestead exemption remains. If the trust owns the house and it is empty, there is likely no homestead exemption.
