Insurance policy

my aunt pass a couple of months ago, the policy have another

person as the beneficiary and I as the second, the first

beneficiary is in prison. The question is what can I do. she left me the power of attorney, and also a living will

for all her belonging and estate and business, I have the

death certificate, for the insurance policy purpose. what

can I do?

Probably nothing. Your power of attorney ended with her death, and the life insurance proceeds pass by contract. You should at least let the insurance company know of your aunt's death, and where the beneficiary is being held.

I'm assuming that the 'living will' is a physician's directive as to what to do in the event she's terminaly ill. If it's a living trust, then whoever is the trustee should follow the terms of the trust document.
