Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Intestate Estate

My 39yr. old brother recently died of cancer. My family and I have paid his funeral out of our pockets. I am a stay-at-home mom who can't afford an attorney. I need help on the process of and making sure I fill out the form or forms correctly. I have been reading up on it from books and the websites. My brother has personal property, alot of medical bills and a bank acct. However, he has life ins. and the person I spoke with said, I need to file a small estate affidavit to be able to put closure to this matter. Please, help me or direct me with resources. Sincerely, Sandra

Re: Intestate Estate

If there is a bank account and life insurance, the attorney could be paid from that and the debts do not have to be paid from the life insurance policy in most cases...so contact a local attorney and you will be happy there is no charge for the consulatation in 9 out of 10 cases..
