Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

I am currently having issues with having to pay back child support for my deceased husband. We were married for 18 years and he owes back child support for 4 adults from when they were children. I am currently paying a collection agency for the past due child support but I was wanting to know what my rights are as a widow on social security and the executor of his estate?

Why in the world would you pay a dead person's debts? Who told you that you had to do this?

His estate might be liable for the past-due child support, but you (personally) are not.
