Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
Joint Power of attorney
Is it legal to grant power of attorney to two people? I.E. if a fater has two children, can the children share power of attorney? If so, how does one go about this.

Re: Joint Power of attorney
I don't know of any legal obstacle to naming two people jointly as your attorney-in-fact. It's almost never done, because it guarantees that when a decision has to be made, it will be difficult if not impossible to get both to work together. Rmember, if one is disabled or incompetent, the other can't function if both signatures are required.
Our firm would not prepare such a document since it ultimately would be a disservice to our client.
