Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

old law

my father divided his land between his two children before

he died. He had kept his house in his name. Is there a

law stating the youngest child receives the home place.

the father had always stated that it was? if not-can

Re: old law

There is no such law. If there is not will, the ownership will be divided according to Texas law. In order to force one sibling to sell, the other would need to file a partition suit and upon issuance of an order from the court the sale would be allowed and proceeds divided.
