My father died last month without a will. My father changed his life insurance policy excluding my step-mother. They were estranged but she has remained in my father's house with her new boyfriend and children. None of the children were my father's The house sits on 11 acres which my father purchased before their marriage. She wants all the property for herself since my father excluded her for the life insurance. She has also refused to make land and tax payments. My grandmother made the payments.As a biological heir to my father's estate what are my legal rights? And what are hers?

Your step-mother has a life-estate in the property, and she also has the responsibilities that go along with holding a life estate. She also has an undivided interest in the rest of your father's estate.

You should contact a lawyer that handles probate matters to protect your interests.
