Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

do you need a lawyer to transfer property

My Daughter is her mother executor. My daughter and her sister share equally the remainder of the estate after bills are paid. There is one piece of property in the estate and cash. Can the cash be split and house sold by the executor and the proceeds of the sale split without hiring a lawyer?

Re: do you need a lawyer to transfer property

Your daughter isn't really the Executor until the Will is filed for probate and the Court approves her and issues Letters Testamentary. Probates can be done without an attorney if you feel you can handle the legalities.
