Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

is it legal to power devices that are in a small building but are powered directly by a larger building with an outdoor extension cord. If the smaller building is not connected to any electricity, someone sleeps in it, and both buildings are owned by the person who lives there, is it legal?
