Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
legal status of biological children
My two children were adopted by my ex-wife's new husband in 1957. Now adults and close to me, what rights do they have to my (their biological father's) estate?

Re: legal status of biological children
They have the same right to inherit from your estate as any child of yours would have. On the other hand, you have no statutory right to inherit from them.
If you have a will, the gifts in your will overrule any statutory rights your children may have to inherit from you. It is important that you write a will so that you can give your property to whomever you choose upon your death.
