life insurace beneficiary

i have a life insurance policy through my employer with a minor child listed as beneficiary. recently got remarried. am i correct telling my new spouse that in the state of texas that no matter who is listed as beneficiary, the new spouse gets the money?? new spouse hasn't signed or had anything notorized releasing any benefit.

No you are not. Designated beneficiary trumps.
