Life Insurance Policy part of Estate

My daughter died and left me as beneficiary to a life insurance policy; is that part of her estate?

Life insurance passes by contract and is not considered part of the decedent's estate; save for calculating whether the estate is taxable by the IRS. There, everything is added up to see if the total exceeds the minimum threshhold (now a sum of $2MM).
