lifetime estate
My father left my stepmother a life estate to his land when he died. After she dies, I get a life estate, after I die my children inherit the land. Can my stepmother do anything legally to get ownership of the property and deny my children their inheritance?

I have seen people try to do things they shouldn't do. It is called fraud. If you think things aren't right, you should always investigate and seek help.
