Living Wills

If you have a living will in the state of Texas, and you are placed into a nursing home, does that facility still get your money?

I'm afraid you have Living Wills and Living Trusts confused. A "Living Will" is actually a directive to physicians when to terminate heroic measures and let you die in peace. A Living Trust is a device for holding assets and probably wouldn't shelter your assets from depletion for nursing home care unless the trust was irrevocable, you were not the Trustee, and the trust was fully funded at least five years before you had to go into the nursing home.
