Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Lost Inheritance

30 years ago my great grandmother willed a large diamond ring to my grandmother. Upon distribution of the inheritance, her brother took the ring and has never given it to my grandmother. This was a dark period for my grandmother. She thinks that her brother may have given her 1500 dollars for the ring, but she isn't certain. (She had been drinking and was going through an ugly divorce.) This many years later; is there anything we can do to recover the ring? The brother says he's given it to his wife who wants to be burried with it.

Re: Lost Inheritance

Probably not. If she was paid for the ring, that's a sale. The "many years later" indicates that any action for recovery is barred by limitations.
