Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
A man and women secretly get married in 1981 and do not tell their adult children. The couple do not and have lived together in over 20 years but never filed for divorce. The woman passes away, what is the man entitled to?

If the couple lived in Texas, which is a community property state, the husband is entitled to half of the community estate. The fact that they were separated doesn't change the fact that at the time the wife passed they were still legally married.
