Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
Messy Texas Natural Gas lawsuit (questions?)
Some of my siblings have sued my aunt (the executer of my grandfathers will/estate) for past royalties owed and to start receiving our royalites monthly which it states in the will. I was unfortunately not included in this lawsuit along with one of my sisters. We both are to partake in a conference call with my Aunt and her lawyers to discuss what she wants to do for us. She told my sister (whom she is closest with) that she wants to setup a trust for the 2 of us. My other siblings are getting a settlement and the royalties are coming directly to them. This is the deal my sister and I want. Should we hear the lawyers out then threaten to sue if we Don't get the same deal as the others?

Since I'm not privy to the will, I can't say what she can or can't do. I suggest asking that your royalty interest be put in your name so that the royalties go directly to you, assuming that you are over 18 years of age. Otherwise the royalties will have to go into a minor's trust.
