Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My mom passed away leaving no will. She was single and had 7 kids. How can I claim money under her name or even cash a check?

See if whoever has the money will accept an affidavit of heirship. If not, you will need to probate under the heirship statutes and they should accept the court order.
