Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My mom passed away a year ago and I just recently used an heirship affidative to close out her checking account. The bank accepted the affidative and transfered the funds into a savings account for me apon my request. Over a week later I get a call from the bank stating that they where not supposed to accept this affidative and that they need a small heirship affidative now. Can they change their mind like that after the accounts closed?
