Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
My mother in-law just passed. She lived in the state of Texas. We just recovered a letter from Medicaid requsting reimbursement for medical services that were rendered to her and Medicaid paid. The letter was sent to the family. Can Medicaid take life insurance, retirement funds, jewerly, etc that she left behind.

Yes, unless those items were put in a trust that rendered them exempt from the Medicaid request.
