Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Mother passed away with large credit card debt, father liable?

My mother passed away with 30K in CC debit. Father paid off house and car with life insurance money. My mother has no estate to speak of other than the house and car that my father still has. She has one card with $14K balance, another with $8K balance and two with 5K a piece. These are not joint accounts. My dad was an authorized user on the $14k balance card. What will my dad be liable for? What should we try to settle for?

These are debts of your mother's estate. You say that she has no estate to speak of. Wait for the creditors to make a move, Then send them a copy of the death certificate. The house and car will have to be taken care of in some type of probate case. check with a lawyer.
