Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

Hello,

My mother passed almost two years ago and we were told that my mothers house will have to go to probate. We will have to get a lawyer and pay 1500.00. I'm really confused about this. Also, we did find a will, but we are not sure if it was the last will. How can we find out if it was her last will? Please help me, they have given us 30 days. What will happen after 30 days? No one is contesting the will.

Contact the law firm that prepared the will and ask if she had prepared another after that one. If not, then the will you found was probably her last.

Since we don't know who has given you 30 days, we have no idea what would happen next.

$1500 to probate a valid, uncontested will is reasonable. Probating her will is almost required to transfer her interest in the real estate.
