Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

My mothers estate

My mother passed away on 7/07/07 from ovarian cancer. She only had a hand written will that she made after she was ill. She was married to a man for 7 years. He received her life insurance money and according to the letter left by my mother, he was to receive everything. My mother had a trailer and a small piece of property that she purchased before she was married. Her husband now wants to sell the property, do I have any claim to the property being her only child?

Re: My mothers estate

Not if the will is valid. If the will was completely in her handwriting and left her husband everything, that's apparently what she meant to do. Good Luck.

Re: My mothers estate

The paper may or may not qualify as a will. If the court does not recognize it as such, then the property would inherited under the laws of intestacy. I suggest that you consult an attorney to protect your rights if you have any.
