An attorney is ethically prohibited from telling you "how to do it" over the internet or anywhere else. If you're going to be your own lawyer, you'll have to study up and figure it out -- all of it. Maybe a lawyer would do the job for part of the money. Good Luck.

I'm not sure how the money is stored. Is it in the court's registry? Is it in a bank account, trust service or ??

As for not having money, most firms that will charge you a small percentage of the funds to assist you with the collection process.

Touch bases with the clerk of the court that has the money, and ask the clerk if they have a good motion that you could use as a go-by. They can't give you legal advice, but they sure can be helpful. I'd also ask if the judge has a problem with pro se applicants, because if the judge doesn't like them (they really don't know what they're doing and wastes the court's time) then it's worthwhile hiring a lawyer for a percentage of the recovery.
