Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas
My parents gave power of attorney (financial and medical) to my brother and I in their will prepared back in the 1970's, and we are also the executors of their will. They are now in their 90's and I want to make sure that the original power of attorney forms are still valid and will be recognized today, as we could need them at any time now. Thank you very much.

Although the documents do not have an expiration date, it might be time to have the documents redrafted (assuming the parents are still competent.) A lot of laws have changed since the 1970s, and their wishes (and assets) may have changed as well. Plus, you might not be able to find the original documents or original will. Also, co-executors are not a good idea.
